Audit manual workflow trigger

We have a few workflows that are manually triggered to issue work out and update assets however we are unable to tell who triggered the workflow unless they had also made a change to item around the same time.

Would it be possible to audit when a user triggers a workflow on an item, along with the workflow they have triggered.

It would also be useful if the audit log recorded which workflow has made changes to an item rather then just the item was changed by "Workflow".
