QR codes should enable operational staff to scan the code and be taken straight to any job/ inspection associated with that asset rather than just the asset. This would allow operational staff to close down the job quickly and with very few ‘click’/ processes, therefore making the whole process more efficient. The use of QR codes to access jobs should be fully auditable so that it can be shown that the operative was on site when they closed down the job. This would help to strengthen any case in defending litigation as it could be definitively proven that the operative was on site to undertake the job/ inspection.
