Hold Signature State Against Individual Attributes, As Well As The Item

Hello there,

This is a bit of a continuation of idea ALLOYWEB-I-1414.

There is a feature in Alloy where a maximum of two parallel workflows can run simultaneously.

Another feature that interacts with this, is that all items hold a 'signature', which snapshots their current state and prevents two users from editing the same item at the same time.

What I've found is that if I want to have an attribute value within an item trigger multiple workflows, to automate updates against that single item, that only two workflows can complete before the signature state of the item updates and prevents any subsequent workflows from completing.

Perhaps a good solution would be to hold the signature state against the individual attributes, in addition to against the item itself, that way two or more users could edit the same item simultaneously, and workflows that trigger multiple updates against the same item would be more likely to complete.

I hope that makes sense!

    Hi Tom,

Can I get you to run this one by our support team with some examples. It may be a case that they can help solve this issue without the need for further development.

Utimately holding a signature against an attribute would not be something we would be looking at implementing.

    Thanks,

    Andy
