When creating an Inspection design and you have created a field like "Inspector" I need to be able to connect it to the User List for the database, and detect which user is logged in so that it auto populates onsite. So that users DO NOT have to pick from the list of users. The user has already logged into either the tablet or desktop and the database knows who we are, so why cant it auto populate a field.
Hi, thanks for the suggestion, sounds perfectly sensible. In practice there are a few things to consider as we can't always know what you want to use that field for. For example, it could be the user who raised the inspection, in which case you want it to default to the logged-in user, but likewise, it could be the user you want to assign an inspection to or who you were working with for example.
So this needs to be configurable. This is possible to do this with workflows as it stands (but you won’t see the update until the device is synced). This might be achievable in future directly the mobile so we’ll leave this ticket open for votes and comments.
