Street Lighting assets - component parts - updating

Component parts – editability

Example –

In street lights design the bracket/lantern/lamp/control cab be altered in the street lights design.

While we understand showing the linked part is useful some users are getting confused and trying to alter parts here rather than in the bracket component of the asset.

Permissions do not allow us to be able to make the field in this design read only and only make changes in the actual component part. Is this an option?

Hi, If we understand the issue correctly, it sounds like the users are trying to edit link attributes on the parent item (Street light bracket) and you would like to constrain them to only edit the linked child items (Lantern/Lamp etc).

You should be able to achieve this using permissions by moving the user in question from the standard Street Lighting Managers group to a custom group where the permission to edit these attributes can be set to read only. Hopefully this make sense but leave get back in touch if you continue to have issues with this.
