Be able to have a map layer where you can see the location of a mobile user, helpful for the contractor when deploying works

Hi! Thanks for the idea, the good news is that this is already possible! The location of mobile users are determined by automatically updated geometry on the Users design. This means you can create a layer style based on the Users design and it will display location-tracked users.

If it helps I set up a layer with a AQS query with 'Is Set - Geometry' using the users design.

After you've set a user as 'Tracked' then the mobile device will automatically update that user's geometry on each sync and therefore will update the layer, so that doesn't require any manual intervention. You shouldn't need to provide a user's geometry to begin with.

Can I just clarify a few points?

For the data to be captured we need to set the user as 'Tracked' and set the geometry for each user? Does the users' location then update on the layer after the device has synced?

The layer would need to display the results from an AQS query on Users. A layer with a single style should be able to display all users since they are treated similar to any other design. One thing to check would be if any other user has geometry set (open another user item and check the geometry tab). Setting a user as Tracked will tell Alloy Mobile to start reporting the users location to the server, so if no other tracked users have used Alloy Mobile, they wouldn't show up on the layer.

How do I go about setting the layer up? I can only seem to get myself up, despite having set the tracking as on, on other users. Or do I need to produce a layer for each user?
